What You Need to Know About Etching
Another beautiful way to imprint the promotional products, engraving is often confused with engraving. Although the results are similar, the process behind the two are totally different. Recorded using a "grave (may be a carbide cutter tour or a diamond drag) or laser to cut metal and other hard-surface objects. Etching, on the other hand, uses strong acids or other abrasive cut into the unprotected parts of the substrate. The most common use of attack is a metal or glass surfaces.
How It's Done
Engraving Metals
The metal is coated printing acid-resistant substance (also called resistance, is usually a source of wax). The recorder presents the image is printed.
Traditional methods exposure of an image recorded using a needle or Échoppe for sloping lines. Today, more companies recorded using photographic means. A photo-negative of the work is ready. Glass Engraving
There are two ways to etch glass:
First, glass engravers can use acids, caustics or abrasives. In the 1920s, manufacturers developed the mold etching process to significantly reduce the costs of labor intensive etched glass. Here, the Art is recorded directly in the mold for each casting comes with the image that already recorded in the glass. This process involves very dangerous acids, so most of the engravers prefer the use of abrasive. Fluoride compounds are the most popular abrasive used for glass.
The second way to record the Glass is a sand blaster. The glass is coated with a template that has a design cut out of it. When criticized silicone sand, only the parts not protected are etched into the glass.
